The AlCan Highway

Starts in Dawson Creek, BC at Mile 0.  We went to Whitehorse, YT which is mile 887.  Took 4 days and MANY hours.  You would think a little over 200 miles per day is nothing.  In a car – yes, in an RV – NO!  Can’t go over 65 – but I rarely had a chance to drive that fast since we were going up and down mountains.  Some days were very long….

BUT we did meet some very nice people and saw/did some cool things along the way.  Had the best cinnamon buns EVER in Tetsa at a little campground right off the highway. Camped at Liard hot springs and took a little swim – really nice after a long day of driving. Camped at Rancheria which was nothing to look at but had the best omelet that Carol ever tasted.  Stopped in Teslin at the Tlinklit Heritage center and learned how to prepare a moose hide – even got to try it out.

Here are some oyher pix:  Wushu TKD was at Mile 0 and our nice clean (except for the windshield) RV before going up the AlCan.

Bison with baby, and Muncho Lake – the water was crystal clear.

Stopped at the Signpost Forest in Watson Lake where people from all over the world leave signs and license plates.  Saw a grizzly along the road!
